Fiji Beekeepers Association is assisting Fiji’s beekeepers improve their honeybee genetic stock and increase honey production by providing quality queen bees(marked) at a subsidized price from reliable queen breeders.
Normally, queens are priced at $50 each or more. They are being made available to beekeepers at $20, with FBA paying the breeder the remaining.
5 or more queen bees per household will be supplied. This program is made possible by funding from the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) and PIFON.
To order your queens, contact the FBA project coordinator,@ Riyaz Dean , by Facebook Messenger or text to 996-8795. If you previously ordered queens and did not receive them, reconfirm your order with @ Riyaz Dean .
Queen quantities are limited. The queens are currently being bred by Herald Ram Imraz Ali Sakove Ravnil PrasadNilesh Kumar (Vitilevu )Mohammed Shamir Wilfred Naicker (Vanua Levu) , but orders for price-subsidized queens must be made through Dr. Riyaz Dean. Breeders will obtain biosecurity clearance to have the bees moved to your area.
